Notes:

The end of the game also reflects issues of marginality. The Al Bhed, who had previously lived separately from the humans, have their home town destroyed by the Guado and are scattered throughout Spira. As the humans learn more about the Al Bhed, they start to accept them, and the Al Bhed begin to assimilate into the mainstream culture. Also, in order to calm Shin so that the main heroes can defeat it, all of the people in Spira sing an Ebon hymn together. While at first these seem to be positive examples of solidarity and overcoming prejudice, they are also examples of how conformity seems necessary for a unified society in Japan.
