Kasera Madreni is a young Aes Sedai. Physically, she is 5'6", of medium build, with very lanky, knock-kneed legs and short, dark brown hair. Her eyes are deep hazel, sometimes giving the illusion of emerald green. She has high, delicate cheeckbones and an aura of secrecy and sadness. She is aloof and cool around those she doesn't know, but warm and friendly toward old acquaintances. Though a Green, at present she has only one Warder by the name of Palis Santhan; she feels Tarmon Gai'don approaching quickly and hasn't been around the Tower enough to bond a second. It is rumored that she might even be Dragonsworn; Kasera neither confirms nor denys this.
Not much is known about Kasera's life before the White Tower, except for what she revealed in her story of becoming a Novice. She regards her family as a secret to be guarded closely, and has on occasion become violent about it. It is known that she has two brothers, Andis and Temere, and one sister named Dalyna. Her parents and their occupation are unknown. Over all, she speaks of her family only reluctantly, saying, "They left me behind, so I leave them behind."
Kasera had the spark born in as a Wilder, and the exact age she first channeled is unknown. However, she wasn't discovered until 18 years of age. She and her sister, Dalyna, were trying to walk to their parents' home in Amador late one night (the reason unknown). Two drunken men with knives began following the girls, who nervously began to walk faster. Finally, the pair was running down deserted streets in a panic. As the men closed in, Kasera channeled in fear, and a delicate stream of fire shot through the air at the attackers. Eyes bulging, the two brigands turned and ran in the other direction to get help. Horrified, Dalyna hurried home to announce that her sister could channel. Her family treated her with revulsion and fear, while Kasera herself was confused and worried. She had been taught that Aes Sedai were witches bent on destruction, and wasn't sure exactly what to do. Although it is believed that her parents were ready to hand her over to authorities, her brothers tried to solve the problem theirselves, unable to see their sister as a Darkfriend. As channelers are outlawed in Amadicia, they snuck her onto a merchant's wagon going to Tar Valon, one step ahead of a band of Whitecloaks. Their last words to the girl forbid her to ever return, lest someone discover they had aided a "witch". Within a month or so, Kasera found herself dumped in Tar Valon, angry and alone. Even though she thought of fleeing, her sense of duty took over and she forced herself to walk up to the White Tower's door. Although, being strong in the Power, she was immediately taken as a Novice, she fought training and was often punished. Within a month or so, she learned to accept her lot and showed herself to be an eager learner; very quickly, the girl was raised to the ring. However, as is common in Wilders who have managed crude control of the Power, Kasera had a block; hers prevented her channeling around a large amount of people. It is thought that the block came from an extreme fear of discovery; in Amadicia she could have been killed. This was finally broken during the flight to Salidar during the Breaking of the Tower. She continued her studies as Accepted, but with her block broken, there wasn't much to study about: she'd already had most of the teaching she needed. As a result, it wasn't long after Egwene al'Vere became Amyrlin that Kasera was raised to the shawl. She finally chose the Green Ajah, the Battle Ajah, since she felt Tarmon Gai'don approaching. Even though she did later on spend time learning from the Violet Ajah, her worst weakness is in Earth, which is used heavily in making objects of the Power. It is thought she never accomplished more than a few simple angreal. She has remained with the Green. Kasera shows the typical female strengths in Air and Water; however, she has great difficulty with controlling large pure flows of Water. While strong in channeling all kinds of Spirit flows, Kasera is notably weaker in Earth. However, she has an unusual affinity and strength for Fire; possibly since she first channeled Fire. This she weaves better than many other sisters, and is rather proud of it. As for Talents, she has mastered Illusion and Traveling, and has some minor ability for Healing as well. However, she cannot Foretell anything if her life depended on it, and cannot weave enough Compulsion without an angreal or sa'angreal to be very effective. In objects of the Power, she possesses a minor angreal in the form of a stone, lizard-like statue obtained during her studies with the Violet Ajah; and it is rumored that she perhaps also has a minor sa'angreal in the form of an oddly carved ring she often wears. If so, its source is unknown.
In general, Kasera is a person whose loyalty must be earned, but once her trust is gained, she will be with you till her dying day. Her sense of duty will usually keep her on the right path, even if her tasks sometimes conflict with personal interests. She is a gentle person, but if she must fight, she will quite viciously. To this date, Kasera spends most of her time away from the Tower, readying for Tarmon Gai'don; she believes it to be coming quickly with the Dragon's Rebirth. She states, "I will be there on the Last Day, with the Battle Ajah to my last breath, and beyond that."
