Machin Jasin is a Gaidin of enormous strength. He recently left the Netland White Tower to pursue a quest that his former Aes Sedai sent him on as her death wish. She died of old age, in the country where no one knew who she was. Machin could do nothing to ease her pain or suffering, and has become as hard a man as ever. He can use Saidin, and was taught by Rand in the Black Tower, but left, feeling unfulfilled. He trained himself in the arts of swordsmanship, and is thought to rival the greatest warriors who ever lived. He will protect his Aes Sedai, following her orders unless endangering herself, in which he will proceed with utmost caution. He wishes to fight back against the one Chosen, supposedly Jalin Moonshadow, and knows that he will need time to do so. He has lived for a long time, in many places. He was born in a land far to the west, but traveled here because it was in dire peril. His family was killed before he left, which is his one weakness. He wishes to find the Chosen or Black Aes Sedai who destroyed his village and family. If he finds that person, there will be no stopping his vengeance...
