Makris Karelan Gaidin is 29, 6'1", with blonde hair and light blue eyes. His favorite weapons are two oriental short swords, with which he can beat any other Warder in the Tower (with those same weapons). He came to the Tower at 17, when it was dicovered that his sister, Kalia, could channel, and became her Warder. He likes to read, though, and is often found in the library with Kalia.
Makris and his sister are twins, and lived in Shol Arbela before coming to the Tower. They were the children of a wealthy noble family before it was discovered that Kalia could channel, and he went to the Tower with her. On his way, he met Logain (before his Gentling) and asked him what it was like to channel. Makris discovered that he could do it, too, but was horrified and told no one but his sister, whom he could trust completely. He would then only Bond her because he feared another Aes Sedai would find out. Seeing Logain's fate only strengthened his fear of being discovered and he constantly fights against the insanity brought on by the taint. He has a fairly good reputation in the White Tower, tarnished only by his sisters' friendship to Ariakas, perhaps one of the most mysterious Aes Sedai in existence.
