Thorn the Forestborn

Thorn was born to a small village on the crest of a nameless mountain in the Spine of the World. He is disturbing to be near, and for this he is most commonly alone.

Thorn stands an amount over six feet, with green eyes and brown hair. He is taken to wearing a green cloak with leather-and-plate pauldrons. A brief history will best serve attempts to explain his other attributes.

Thorn left home early, and wandered a world he knew little about. In this way did he fall afoul of a person he (on rare occasions) calls the Black Man. Not knowing the ramifications, he was dedicated to the Dark One. In time he was slowly warped. He makes no sound when he walks, and casts no shadow. In a fit of anger, he discovered the power of saidin. For three years he taught himself how to use the power, and therefore, he uses it differently. To him the power is a raging wind, sharply sweet and reeking at the same time. In those years he grew a taste for the reek. Finally, the Black Man sent him to strike down a being named the Green One, who lived in an elusive forest that could only be found once. That murder was the only task Thorn has ever failed. In punishment, the being in the wood cursed him, so that Thorn's anger forced bony needles outwards through his flesh, in it's style of justice. These thorns only dissappeared when calm returned. The Black Man learned of his failure, and decided that humiliation was better than execution, and so enacted an ensorcellment to reshape Thorn as a Trolloc. Partway into an eternity of agonizing sorcery, Thorns tormentor was struck down, aborting the spell. In this way did Thorn meet the woman who captured his heart as well as his loyalty. Unfortunately the spell had it's toll, leaving Thorn with a pair of rams horns scarring his brow.

In time, Thorn heard of the amnesty to male channelers. He availed himself of it, but is rarely thought of as an Asha'man, as he was too ill-tempered and avoided to be accepted by his mates.

Eventually, a mishap with a Gate teleported Mari'sa away, and now he searches.

Thorn carries a pair of blades inscribed with crows. Their names are Scavenger and Carrion-Eater, named on the theory that if a man picks a fight with Thorn, he is as good as dead before the blades reach him. His banner is a grimacing crescent moon being clawed down by thorny creepers on black.
