We had a great vacation at a cabin in the woods with Wes' brother Ralph and his wife Susan. Everyone liked roasting marshmallows, and we also enjoyed feeding the deer and camel at the Deer Park nearby. Later that day, Quartz got to go fishing for the first time. You can tell he was kind of tired, but I asked him to show me how happy he was to be fishing and he changed his expression.
Then we visited the Grand Canyon, where we tired the kids out by walking around all day. Last, we went to the mining museum in Grants, NM, and now Quartz pretends to be a miner every day. :-)
The boys insisted on helping me with everything that had to do with my birthday cake -- baking it, decorating it, blowing out candles, eating it -- good thing I have good helpers!
I finally finished my wall quilt and Wes helped me hang it up.
We hosted a mystery party that I wrote, and everyone did a great job with their costumes. It was a blast!
Quartz got a bike at a garage sale and he has been riding it whenever he gets a chance. Onyx likes to sit on the seat, but Quartz usually doesn't let him do that for long.
