Kerilaine's and Aurelia's plan for the Novice to Accepted Progression
Aurelia has recently fled the White Tower, though to be a result of recent events.
Aurelia unconsciously brushed aside her short dark hair, a habit she had when in a state of great agitation. She paced up and down the hallway, glaring at the Maidens who watched her cautiously but refused to give her entrance to the room they guarded. She stopped her pacing and took a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself. She had something important, something that could be vital to Rand al'Thor if he would only listen to her! Burn the man! She gave up the notion of calming herself and continued her pacing as she thought back on everything she had done upon her arrival.
Aurelia had arrived in Cairhien, newly raised and full of confidence, and established herself in the Royal Palace on business of the new Amyrilin Seat, Egwene al'Vere, in hopes of aiding Rand al'Thor in preparation for Tarmon Gai'don just three short weeks ago. But oh, how shocked she was to discover how cold, distant, and altogether unwilling to cooperate he was! He had informed her, in a tone that radiated authority, that he would see her when and only when he choose and that he had no intention of confiding to her on his future plans. He then unceremoniously left and she very probably would have seen neither hide no tail of him if it wasn't for the strong kinship that she developed with Min.
Al'Thor's attachment to the girl was obvious and Aurelia wasted no time in attempting to befriend her. At first Min had been rather cold and distant herself, protective as she was of Rand, but gradually a friendship had formed after Aurelia told Min of her talent in Foretelling and her hopes of aiding Rand and Min, in turn, had reluctantly confessed her similar talent. Min saw visions around people, things that were going to happen, though her talent had nothing to do with the One Power, as Aurelia's did. They found a common bond in the fact that both had tried to warn people of future harm and in the fact that for both the thing warned of had always come to pass and the people forewarned were not grateful of it. They spoke of first discovering their talents, Min as a young child and Aurelia on her fifteenth naming day.
As a girl in Saldaea, Aurelia's mother, a rich merchant, had been teaching her the trade in hopes that her daughter would eventually take over when Aurelia had her first foretelling. It was a simple thing really, she suddenly just knew that if her mother was to make a partnership with a neighboring merchant, it would prove a very successful alliance with money made on both sides. Aurelia's mother was doubtful at first but she listening to her daughter and was delighted when the outcome turned out favorable. This new talent was fun and exciting if rather unpredictable; Aurelia boosted her mother's trade quite a lot that first year.
Then while off trading, Aurelia came across an Aes Sedai who recognized her talent for what it was and had her bundled off to the White Tower to become a novice. Aurelia was strong in the Power and after two and a half years, she passed through the arches and was raised to Accepted. Three years later, when Suian Sanche was deposed, it was a Foretelling that got her out of the Tower and on her way to Salidar with a whole skin. Six months after her arrival in Salidar, Aurelia was raised to the shawl by the new Amyrilin and gained acceptance into the Green Ajah.
The Amyrilin knew a useful talent when she saw it and so Aurelia was kept close at hand for awhile but relatively few Foretellings were helpful in the plot to depose Elaida. Aurelia Mo'rilete, now Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah, the Battle Ajah, had a burning desire to use her talent to help Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, in his fight against the shadow. As most of her Foretellings were rendered useless to the Amyrilin, Egwene al'Vere, Aurelia received free leave to go. In her haste she used the rediscovered talent Traveling, which she is just strong enough for.
The door opened, bringing Aurelia abruptly out of her thoughts. Rand al'Thor, tall, proud, and arrogant stood in the doorway looking at her with an icy cold stare. "You may come in." She gave him a frosty stare of her own and followed him into the room wishing she were more than average height; perhaps then it wouldn't seem as if he was looming over her. As it was she would just have to depend on strength of will. He had to listen to her. He just had to.
