A tall man of non-descript features. Wears his hair long and tied back with a strip of leather. Wears only black and dark green clothing in addition to the color-shifting cloak he is in the process of earning. Already extremely skilled with the longbow, sling and quarterstaff, skills he learned from his father in Arafel, he is rapidly advancing in his prowess with the sword and axe. Born of an Arafellian lesser noble, Faran was originally raised to fight as a Borderland soldier. When he was 12 his mother and younger sister were killed by a raiding pack of trollocs. Faran was severely injured but was rescued in time by his father's hunting party. Faran was taken to Tar Valon to be healed and decided to stay and train as a Warder after speaking to the sisters and other Gaidin. A year later Faran made a brief return visit to bury his father who had been slain while defending his patrol. Young Faran was invested with his family's estates and then he returned to his training. That was ten years ago. Now Faran helps teach other new trainees while finishing his own training and waits for the day he is bonded so he may continue the fight against the Shadow that has taken his family from him.
