Fariinya has long, dark brown, flowing hair which frames her delicately featured face. Deep blue eyes, and an alluring smile enhance the remarkable beauty of her elegant figure. Fariinya's attire usually consists of an emerald green cloak, and a pale green clinging silk dress, that leaves the coppery skin on her graceful shoulders exposed. She also wears soft leather ankle boots, fine gloves, and modest amounts of jewelry.
Fariinya's father is a pathetic Baron in the noble court of Arad Doman, her nation of birth. Her lazy mother is little better, spending most of her time sleeping, or eating the bland food prepared by underpaid, overworked servants. Fariinya's lack of respect for her parents led her to seek out the company of the infamous smuggler Marbios Aatan, who spent a little of his free time teaching Fariinya what he considered were important things to know. This accounts for Fariinya's mastery of the dagger, and many other small bladed implements, which she has the tendency to produce suddenly when angered. When Fariinya was forced by her parents to attend at the banquets of the nobility, she spent her time practicing the art that comes to many Domani women – the art of seduction. Fariinya's beauty certainly helped her in this regard, as did her ability to dance scandalously well, which is, to Fariinya's frustration, a well circulated rumour in Tar Valon. However, Fariinya quickly grew bored of flirtation when she realized that all she need do was ask and any man was hers.
At the age of 19, Fariinya's ability to channel was discovered by a visiting Aes Sedai. To Fariinya's great relief, the Aes Sedai whisked her unceremoniously to Tar Valon, where she became a novice. Not having developed the Wilder's characteristic inability to channel willingly, Fariinya was denied immediate advancement to Accepted. Unfortunately, this meant that she received all manner of teasing from the younger novices, until, of course, a throwing knife materialized in her hand, whistled through the air, and sliced a braid of hair off one of the many offending novices. Fariinya, having partially developed the ability to control her channeling before she was discovered, became Accepted with only 1 year of study as a novice. As there was little doubt in Fariinya's mind that Green was the Ajah for her, she was raised to Aes Sedai after only 3 years as Accepted.
Fariinya is strong with the One Power but often aids the White Tower in ways that do not directly involve channeling. As Accepted, she discovered a method of Analyzing ter'angreal to determine their original use without channeling into them, thus removing the risk of an accidental Stilling. Usually, Fariinya acts as a White Tower representative who deals directly with the rulers of surrounding kingdoms such as Cairhien, Andor and others. Due to her amazing ability to manipulate people without their knowing, she often receives directions from the White Tower to "convince" rulers to act in ways that benefit the White Tower. Kings are not too difficult for Fariinya. A well timed impish smile, or roguish glance will often work wonders. Queens however, tend to respond better to the subtleties of orbital conversation. Fariinya's charming personality doesn't last long when she is angered. With a small flourish, a knife appears in her hands, and her eyes becomes cold and flat. A cunning smile appears on her face and a chorus of "Yes Aes Sedai" follows quickly from any offending novices or citizens. Fariinya is exceptionally good at maintaining her composure and serenity and never letting her thoughts be known.
Where you stand depends on where you sit, and where you sit, and where you sit depends on who you know.
Fariinya En'Drangor Sedai knows many people, doubtless.
