As a child he was at the top of his warrior training class. He was praised by all that knew him. He dreamt of becoming a red shield. As he grew he just got better and better. Finally his dream came true. At fifteen he became the youngest Red Shield ever. When he was 19 Rand came and declared that he was the Car'a'carn. He fought in the battle against the Shaido and while dancing the spears against five others he suffered severe head injuries. The last thing he remembered was a falling to the ground in a pool of blood.
When he awoke he was in a small cottage, surrounded by a forest. He tried to sit up but pain shot through his body. "Don't do that. Now that you have finally awakened it can only make matters worse." came a voice from behind him. "Who are you?" asked Kaark "Where am I? Who am I? I do not remember a thing about my life." "Oh," said the man" ,my name can come later. I was afraid of this. You may rest here until you are again of good health. Then you must leave for Tar Valon. It is the only place where they can restore your memory." So there he did rest for a week until all the pain was gone. Then the old man gave him a map and a compass plus a bit of gold and said "Be off with you. It is time for you to leave this place."
And so he traveled, and traveled, and then for a little change of pace he traveled some more. After weeks of unrelentless travel he finally came in sight of a gleaming white tower. He knew this must be the fabeled White Tower of Tar Valon. When he reached there he asked for an audience with the Amyrlin. When he found that she had been assassinated he asked another Aes Sedai what he should do.
"Ah you are in luck my friend. I am of the Yellow Ajah. I can Heal your memory right here and now." Suddenly he felt a tingling feeling surround him. Then he remembered everything that happened. The Aes Sedai started speeking softly. "It is your destiny to become the warder of one named Zaodrin M'shae. It is this I foretell. But there is no Aes Sedai he by that name. You must become a warder in training and wait for her to be raised Aes Sedai." So he waited and waited until one day she showed up.
After they fell in love, he told her of the foretelling, and then Zaodrin bonded him. It is rumoured that they are also married.
