The only Aiel child, born of a maiden, to be raised by her birth mother. Three hours after giving birth, Niniane's mother had to defend herself against a trolloc attack. She fought bravely, and with two other maidens managed to fight her way free. After several days of walking across the Waste they were found by the Wise One Amys. While the two maiden's without children were near death from exaustion and dehydration, Niniane's mother Jimini was refreshed and making plenty of milk to feed her suckling babe. Amys examined all of the refugees, gave them water and sent them to bed, unable to figure out why Jimini's condition was so much better than the others, she sensed in her no ability to channel. That night Amys had a cryptic dream, A grown Niniane faced off with a faceless red haired man. The sky shook and the earth rumbled, Amys prayed for Niniane to hold strong, but as Niniane grew weaker the screams of dying Aiel rang louder and louder until, with tears streaming down her face, Niniane placed a glowing bracelet,given to her by her mother on her arm. Seeming to meld in to another woman, who Amys could not make out, one with flowing blonde hair, she raised her hands over her head, a twisted serpents ring shining in the light, and said "I am so sorry my husband", and the sky tore apart. When Amys woke the newborn child was playing with a rattle floating over her head. Given the rarity of a child to be found so young with the ability to channel, and her cryptic dream Amys thought that secrecy was best. Since the child's talent was still very weak (in fact Amys herself had not sensed it untill she knew it was there) she figured that chances were slim that anyone else knew the secret. The two childless maidens died of dehydration the next day and figuring that no one was better suited for the care of a child than the mother who had birthed her, Amys set up a small tent in Cold Rocks Hold and placed Jimini and Niniane there, telling no one except the other Wise Ones and Ruarc, she then sat back to wait. On Niniane's 13th naming day, Amys and the other Wise Ones packed up Niniane's things led her across the Spine of the World and gave her in to the hands of an Aes Sedai who said she had been waiting for them, her name was Gitara Moroso.
