Many years ago, a man named Balak suffered from leprosy. His right hand was very rotted as a result, hence his last name--Halfhand. He also wore a ring of white gold around his ring finger on that hand, the same ring that his decendant Balak wears today.
The current Balak Halfhand is tall cold and unfathomable. Few have found the depth of him, and many of those few are no longer living today. Balak was born in Malkier, before the cursed Blight took it. His father fled with him to Shienar, and trained him. When Balak was 16, his father went on a quest for vengance on the land that had taken his beloved Malkier. He never returned. Balak was given into the care of his uncle, who taught him the ways of the knife, spear, sword(required him to become a Blademaster), and stealth. Balak is currently 22, and he stands about 6'3". He has long, dark, hair tied back into a well kept tie of the back of his head. His armor is of a deep blue tint, and his cloak bears the tartan-like pattern of his family. He feels that being bonded to Fariinya Sedai of the Green Ajah and becoming a Warder is the best way to fofill his vow to fight evil in all places, and avenge the destruction of Malkier. He wishes very much to find the whereabouts of his father, be he living or dead.
